This year's topic..... CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS
Best practices of crisis communicators are grounded in effective communication with the media. From scandals to inquiries to tragedies, on February 11th we'll hear from local members of the media about their experiences reporting the crises that have affected our province - and the communications processes they have encountered.
Panelists

Rob Antle, The Telegram
Rob Antle has worked as a journalist for more than 15 years. He has been a reporter at The Telegram in St. John's since 2001. Rob focuses mainly on coverage of politics, the economy and provincial affairs.
David Cochrane, CBC
Since 1998, David has worked for CBC Television and CBC Radio primarily covering provincial politics. David is currently the Provincial Affairs Reporter for CBC Newfoundland and Labrador.
Linda Swain, VOCM
Linda Swain has been with VOCM for over 20 years. In that time she has worked as a reporter, news director, producer and host of VOCM Niteline. Early in 2009, Linda returned to the VOCM Newsroom as spot reporter, covering such news events as the release of the Cameron Inquiry Report, and the Cougar Helicopter crash.
Moderator

Ivan Muzychka, ABC, MC
Ivan joined Memorial in 1994 and is currently Associate Director (Communications) in the Division of Marketing and Communications where he is responsible for managing the university's media relations and internal communications.
Registration
Registration through IABC-NL is $40 for current IABC members/$60 non-members per person.
Deadline to book: 11am on Tuesday February 9th, 2010.
Cancellations must be received 48 hours prior to event. No shows will be billed.
Registration includes a 3-course luncheon meal - please specific any special dietary restrictions at time of registration.
